Table 1. GlcN and gangliosides G_M2 and G_M1 block the cell-cycle progression of mesangial cells.

RMC were treated with GlcN (0.5 or 5 mM) or cultured in the presence of G_M2 or G_M1 (60 μM) for 48 h. Cells were then collected and analysed by flow cytometry as described in the Experimental section. Results are expressed as percentage of cells in each phase of the cell cycle: G₀/G₁, S and G₂/M. Values are the means±S.E.M. for five independent experiments.
