Data collection A total of 9 simulation runs are acquired through high fidelity direct numerical simulations (DNS). The numerical domain represents an upper-ocean cubic region based on homogeneous isotropic turbulence, along with a bidisperse mixture of point particles representing microplastics and biogenic material. The adopted mesh ensures full resolution of all turbulent scales, and the particle sizes align with literature data. The dataset includes the instantaneous flow velocity field over time, as well as the positions and velocities of the particles. Additionally, the aggregates are computed as a post-process.
