^aProtein levels were determined by densitometric scanning of film exposures of Western blots, as described in Materials and Methods. The results are presented as the percentage of UL25 protein relative to HSV-1(KOS) B-capsids, examined in parallel. Comparisons between samples and experiments were performed by setting levels for the VP5 protein to 100%.
