Sagittal, coronal, and axial slices of the continuous maps of the 3D landmark registration error. The maps are computed from the discrete landmarks (displayed in Fig. 3D and Extended Data Figs. 14D) using Gaussian kernel regression with σ = 10 mm. There is no clear spatial pattern for the anatomical distribution of the error across subjects.
