Mapping of the domains recognized by the M protein-specific MAbs. Carboxy-terminal deletion mutants were expressed in a rabbit reticulocyte lysate in the presence of [35S]methionine/cysteine and were immunoprecipitated with M-specific MAbs. The immunoprecipitated proteins were analyzed by SDS-PAGE and fluorography. The M protein domains recognized by the MAbs used are indicated within the bar.
