A BamHI fragment of ∼1 kb is present in transgenic mice (TG) but absent in control, nontransgenic littermates (C). The high-molecular-weight fragment (∼9 kb) that is visible in all lanes represents the endogenous CAR gene that cross-hybridizes with the CAR cDNA.
