Photograph of electrophoretically separated cell lysates reacted with serum to HSV-1(F) α proteins. Replicate 25-cm² flask cultures of HEp-2 cells were mock infected or infected with 10 PFU of HSV-1(F) or the d120 mutant per cell and, where indicated, coinfected with Bac-U_S3. The cells were harvested at 18 h after infection, solubilized, electrophoretically separated on denaturing gels, transferred to a nitrocellulose sheet, and reacted with antibodies specific for ICP0 (A), ICP22 (B), or ICP27 (C).
