Water solutions of (a) eugenol (E) and Soluplus® (S)/Lutrol F 127 (L). The ratios from left to right are the following: E:S = 1:1; E:S = 1:2; E:L = 1:1; E:L = 1:1.33; and E:L = 1:2. Only in the case of E:L = 1:2 is no precipitate observed; (b) selected spray-dried solid powders (200 mg in 5 mL H2O) with different amount of eugenol with respect to the mass of Soluplus®: from left to right, 15% eugenol, 10% eugenol and 5% eugenol—no precipitate is formed. The solution’s turbidity is due to the high Soluplus® concentration and the increased size of the Soluplus® micelles due to the presence of eugenol.
