Characterization of viral growth in MDCK cells. A comparison of viral growth was done for the recombinant wild-type (rWT) and the three NS1 mutant viruses in MDCK cells. MDCK cells were infected with each of the viruses at an MOI of 0.1 (a), 0.01 (b), or 0.001 (c). Viral growth in the supernatant of infected cells was examined daily for 5 days by the hemagglutination assay.
