Chronic exposure to purified Aspergillus fumigatus chitin does not modulate lung physiology. C57BL/6 wild-type (WT) mice were exposed intratracheally to A. fumigatus derived chitin as in A. Twenty-four hours after the last challenge, airway function was analyzed via mechanical ventilation using the flexiVent pulmonary function system. Total lung resistance between vehicle (PBS) and chitin-exposed mice (A) and airway resistance between vehicle and chitin-exposed mice (B).
