Top Different aliquots of the same solution of 10 μM hIAPP (initially at 4°C, 10 mM phosphate buffer, 100 mM NaCl, pH 7.4) were either left at 4°C (A) or heated to 25°C (B) and then quickly deposited on SiO2, frozen with liquid N2, and then lyophilized to preserve the morphology of the original aggregates and the by tapping mode AFM in air (40% humidity).
