Table 1. Findings from a motor nerve conduction study performed in a coronary patient with myalgia indicated possible Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
EMG: Electromyography, NCV: Nerve Conduction Velocity, L: Left, R: Right, NCV: No sensory nerve action potentials are recorded in both upper and lower limbs. Compound motor action potentials are recorded with low amplitude and velocity at left median, ulnar and right median nerve, whereas in the legs, only the peroneal is recorded when centrally stimulated. EMG: No spontaneous activity is recorded during muscle rest. Recruitment pattern of right biceps brachialis is full of few neurogenic motor units. Recruitment pattern of first interosseus dorsalis consists of very small, nearly fractional motor units. Recruitment pattern of tibialis anterior bilaterally, is intermediate with high amplitude neuropathic units.
