Indications and contraindications of the Trillat procedure.

Indications Contraindications
  • An older individual experiencing recurrent anterior shoulder dislocations, displaying a preserved active forward elevation, intact subscapularis function, and an irreparable posterosuperior cuff tear or greater tuberosity nonunion.

  • Pseudoparalytic shoulders.

  • Subscapularis tears.

  • Isolated limited external rotation (ILER).

  • Combined limited active forward elevation (AFE) and active external rotation (CLEER).

  • A younger patient with shoulder joint hyperlaxity, characterized by external rotation exceeding 85° when the arm is at the side.

  • Cases involving capsular distension or deficiency without significant defects of the humeral head and glenoid.

  • An ISIS score < 3, without relevant capsular deficiency.

  • Significant bony lesions observed on the glenoid and/or the humeral sides in young patients with shoulder joint hyperlaxity.
