Semi‐log plot of the mean displacement of pinning sites $\overline{d}$ on the coating surfaces (inferred from micropipette droplet friction measurements) against the mean surface roughness ${\overline{R}}_{\mathrm{a}}$ from stylus profilometry. It can be seen that mean pinning displacement $\overline{d}$ reflects a semi‐logarithmic relationship with surface roughness.
