Schematic illustration of the fabrication process of hybrid organic–inorganic–organic isoporous membranes. Polystyrene‐block‐poly(4‐vinylpyridine) (PS‐b‐P4VP) membrane is modified by SIS with selectively binding an organometallic precursor, followed by exposure to a co‐reactant precursor, resulting in growth of AlOx within the P4VP domains. To further reduce the pore size, AlOx ALD is performed. The AlOx‐treated membrane is then postfunctionalized via silanization to introduce different functionalities, i.e., fluorinated groups and cationic and anionic groups.
