Inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Inclusion Criteria • Men and women aged 18 years and older.
• ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), stable angina pectoris functional class III according to Canadian Cardiovascular Society classification.
• Availability of signed and dated informed consent of the patient to participate in the study.
Exclusion Criteria • Myocardial infarction without ST-elevation.
• Angina pectoris functional class I, II or IV.
• Type 1 diabetes mellitus.
• Use of acetaminophen, any vitamins, minerals, amino acids, dietary supplements (including sports drinks and energy drinks), creatinine, alpha-ketoglutarate, malic acid, citric acid, maleic acid, and orotic acid in the 4 days before blood sampling. Consumption of sweeteners (aspartame, among others), monosodium glutamate or alcohol 24 h before blood sampling (non-CVD group and SAP group).*
• Any other diseases or conditions that, in the opinion of the investigator, may distort the results of the study and limit the patient’s participation in the study.

*Patients with STEMI who violated their diet or consumed alcohol were excluded from the data analysis after blood sampling.
