Repeated administrations of METH lead to intracellular reduction of free radicals in catecholamine A1/C1 neurons of the RVLM and CVLM. Double fluorescent analysis for TH-immunoreactivity for the catecholamine marker TH and αSyn was performed in the RVLM and CVLM of mice subjected to repeated injections of saline or METH (5 mg/kg, i.p., for 5 days) and sacrificed 60 min after the challenge carried out, on day 11. Representative images of the double immunostaining for TH and αSyn in A1/C1 within the RVLM and CVLM of mice treated with saline or METH are shown in (A,B), respectively.
