Effect of systemic cDCV therapy on established lung metastases. (A) Schematic diagram for systemic cDCV therapy. K7M3 cells were injected into the right tibia. Primary tumor and lung metastases were confirmed at 5 weeks using X-ray (B), Bouin’s Fixation solution (C), and hematoxylin and eosin staining (D). The tumor leg was then amputated. Starting 3 days after surgery, mice were treated with cDCV twice on day 3 and day 5. Lungs were collected 6 weeks after amputation. The number and sizes of tumor nodules was quantified using H&E staining (E,F); 7–8 mice per treatment group. Data were analyzed using the student t test. * p < 0.05.
