Schedule of the animal experiment. (a) MOC2 cancer cells were injected into the oral mucosa of C57BL/6 mice. (b) A patch containing cisplatin-encapsulated chitosan nanoparticles was placed on the tumor. A positive electrode was placed inside the oral cavity and a negative electrode was placed on the outside of the cheek. The tumor and the patch were clamped together with a conducting clip. (c) Tumors were located and measured axially and longitudinally using ultrasound. (d) Mice were sacrificed, and tumors as well as lymph nodes were prepared for histologic examinations.
