Inclusion and exclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria
Age  ≥ 18 years old
Current history of prediabetes or diabetes Self-reported
Literate Able to understand, read, and write a short simple statement on his/her everyday life
Written physician permission for exercising Signed by the participant’s doctor
No cognitive impairment Six-item screening scoring ≤ 4
No vision limitations for reading
No confirmed diagnosis of unstable coronary artery disease or heart failure
No pacemaker and/or implantable cardioverter defibrillator
No recent cardiovascular event or cardiac surgery  ≤ 6 months
No intermittent claudication
No currently enrolled in a structured physical exercise program that follows diabetes guidelines Accumulating 150 min per week of aerobic exercise and perform muscle-strengthening exercises two to three times per week
Exclusion criteria
Clinical decompensation that contraindicates physical exercising
Physical limitations Any physical limitation that prevented the participant from engaging in the physical exercise
Mental limitation Any limitation that prevented the participant to understand the educational content
Complex ventricular arrhythmias Atrial flutter or atrial fibrillation, multiple atrial or ventricular ectopy, and atrioventricular or ventricular block
