Oral antibiotics used to treat mild to moderate skin and soft tissue infections in adults in the emergency department setting without systemic signs of infection (eg, fever, tachycardia, tachypnea, increased white blood cells). Mild purulent infections without systemic signs of infection may be treated with incision and drainage without antibiotics.
