KSIMM cells were transfected with ORF74-pSG5 or pSG5 control vector. Supernatants were collected at 24 h posttransfection. HUVECs (passages 4 and 5) were infected with a retroviral expression vector containing ORF74 (MIGR1-ORF74) or the control vector MIGR. Supernatants were collected at 72 h postinfection. Cell counts were determined to ensure that equal cell numbers per well were sampled. Three wells were sampled for each reading. ELISA data were obtained as described in Materials and Methods. ELISA readings are expressed in picograms per milliliter.
