Cd²⁺ uptake by nematodes in liquid culture. N2 nematodes were raised in 50 mL of liquid culture containing Cd²⁺ at concentrations of 0 µg/g (0 µM), 0.3 µg/g (2.5 µM), and 1.3 µg/g (12.0 µM). After separation via centrifugation and washing steps, Cd²⁺ concentrations were measured via AAS separately in nematodes, bacteria (OP50-1), and supernatant (S-buffer).
