Biochemistry Correction to “Whole-blood metabolomics of dementia patients reveal classes of disease-linked metabolites,” by Takayuki Teruya, Yung-Ju Chen, Hiroshi Kondoh, Yasuhide Fukuji, and Mitsuhiro Yanagida, which published September 7, 2021; 10.1073/pnas.2022857118 (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 118, e2022857118).
The authors note: “The q-values in SI Appendix, Table S2 were incorrect. This is due to the error in the calculation method. The q-value by the Benjamin method is calculated based on the total number of null hypotheses tested, that is, all 124 metabolites investigated here. However, in the original article, we made a mistake to analyze 33 metabolites with P-values less than 0.05 to calculate their q-value. In the corrected version, the authors calculated the q-values based on all 124 metabolites tested. The correction of q-values does not affect the interpretation or conclusions of the manuscript but is important for the proper understanding of researchers interested in these metabolites.” The authors also note: “This table was corrected according to the valuable comments from Reese Richardson.” The SI Appendix has been corrected online.
The authors note that Hiroshi Kondoh should be listed as an additional corresponding author. Hiroshi Kondoh should be moved to the fourth position in the author line, between Yasuhide Fukuji and Mitsuhiro Yanagida. The corrected correspondence footnote and author line appear below. The online version has been corrected.
