Glc- and GlcUA-labeled PLD-liberated products are different sizes. [¹⁴C]GlcUA-labeled (•) and [¹⁴C]Glc-labeled (○) lipids synthesized as for Fig. 2A were solubilized and treated with PLD as described in the legend to Fig. 2. Samples were applied to a Sephadex G-10 column and eluted with 0.2 M NaCl containing 0.2 M ammonium acetate and 0.02% sodium azide at a flow rate of 0.3 ml/min. Samples (0.5 ml) were collected, and the amount of radioactivity present in the even-numbered fractions was determined.
