Figure depicting the main sites of action of cannabinoids in the eye. The cannabinoid receptors are present in the iris, ciliary body, and the retinal ganglion cells. Also present on the latter are transient receptor potential vanilloid membrane 1 and calcium channels whose effects are modulated by cannabinoids.
