Membrane permeabilization. (A) Outer membrane permeabilization was assessed by nitrocefin assay (B). Inner membrane permeabilization was assessed by propidium iodide assay where WT (orange) and ∆mlaA (blue) were incubated with different concentrations (0–10 µM) of 3’,6-dinonyl neamine. Statistical analysis was performed using two-way ANOVA with multiple comparisons. ***P < 0.001; ns P >0.05; (A and B) significant increase in membrane permeabilization compared with untreated P. aeruginosa WT (A) and ∆mlaA (B).
