PhAs-LHP suppressed pancreatic cancer growth in Scid mice. MiaPaCa-2 human pancreatic cancer cells (5 × 106 cells) were subcutaneously injected into the flank of a Scid mouse. When the tumor size reached >50 mm3, PAO (50 μg/kg) or PhAs-LHP (200 μg/kg) was given by intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection every other day for the time periods indicated in (A). The control (CT) mice were treated with saline. Tumor volume (A) and weight (B) were measured as described in the Materials and Methods section. There were 7, 8, and 8 mice in the control, PAO, and PhAs-LHP groups respectively, as indicated in the photo of tumors isolated from each mouse (C). The mouse body weight was monitored and shown in (D). *, p < 0.05, compared to control.
