The first step was to filter the kidney transplantations from all organ transplantations included in the data set and exclude entries with missing donor information. The second step was to exclude all living organ and multi-organ transplantations, because these recipients do not receive organs via the standard allocation programs for kidneys at Eurotransplant (ET). The last step was to clean the data set for implausible entries. The resulting entries on post-mortem kidney donations were then evaluated in the further analyses.
