YFP-13/14 is efficiently incorporated into the virus particle. Purified extracellular virions from Wt virus (s17) and the YFP-13/14-expressing virus (179v) were solubilized and analyzed by SDS-PAGE followed by either Coomassie blue staining (c.b.) or Western blotting with antibodies against ICP5, VP16, VP13/14, and GFP. ∗, an unidentified protein which is present in 179v virions in greater abundance than in Wt virions.
