The antiviral activity of EB depends on virus input. Cell cultures (2 × 10⁵ cells/well) were switched to serum-free DMEM and infected with 19 (○), 210 (●), or 5,700 PFU (Δ) of hrR3 per well EB was present from 1 h before through 1 h after infection. lacZ⁺ cells were scored 8 h postinfection.
