Binding of S. epidermidis 1457 and its isogenic PIA/HA-negative mutant 1457-M10 to immobilized fibronectin. Bacterial suspensions of both strains were applied to microtiter wells coated with 1 μg of fibronectin per ml and to uncoated control wells. Attached cells were detected by ELISA.
