Because the USA is a developed country, we assume that all diagnosed infected in the USA are in treatment. This time-series data for HIV-diagnosed adult population are from the CDC (51). Because 14% of HIV-infected population do not know their status of infection (7), we add this population to the diagnosed juvenile population and assume that this is the total infected juvenile population in the USA.
