The er (enantiomeric ratio) was determined by chiral HPLC.
The TON (turnover number) was calculated by the number of substrate molecules converted to the product per iridium cofactor added to the cell culture.

The reaction was performed with EcN cells containing an empty vector pASK-IBA3C under otherwise identical conditions. All data are shown as the average from three biological replicates.
