Assessment for catatonia using the Catatonia Quick Screen (CQS). A positive response to any of the four questions is a positive screen, which should be followed up by a complete catatonia diagnostic scale. A negative response to all four questions makes catatonia unlikely and rules out the diagnosis unless there remains high clinical suspicion for catatonia, in which case further assessment can be performed.
