Slope of maternal warmth across adolescence significantly and positively predicts youths’ basal respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA). Latent average intercepts and slopes for maternal warmth were estimated and extracted for each participant from the latent‐growth models. Basal RSA was regressed on all covariates, and the residual values were plotted against the latent maternal warmth slope factor for illustrative purposes.
