Figure 2

Heat map of MICs for GM and its copolymers showing antimicrobial activity. The bacterial strains are A. baumannii 5075, A. baumannii 5075D (colistin-resistant), A. baumannii 03–149.1 (polymyxin susceptible), A. baumannii 03–149.2 (polymyxin resistant), K. pneumoniae B5055, K. pneumoniae B5055 nm (colistin-resistant), P. aeruginosa 19147 nm (colistin-resistant), P. aeruginosa 27853, E. coli DC10B, E. coli DH5α, S. aureus 29213, and M.-ResistantS. aureus (MRSA) 43300. The MIC was determined by using a standard microbroth dilution method. In the copolymers, the monomers are depicted in different colors, GM (purple), PEGMAS (light blue), PEGMAL (dark blue), and HEMA (orange).
