It represents the conceptual evolution of the topic by distributing the keywords in different themes/quadrants based on the centrality (horizontal x-axis) and density (vertical y-axis). Here, centrality represents the frequency of linkages between different clusters (themes), whereas density represents the frequency of internal links within a cluster (theme). The quadrants of the thematic map have intuitive importance. They are named motor themes (1^st upper right), niche themes (2^nd upper left), emerging or disappearing themes (3^rd lower left), and basic themes (4^th lower right) in an anti-clockwise manner (data source: Web of Science Core Collection 2024).
