Fig. 2 — Technetium-99m labeled tropane derivative (99mTc-TRODAT-1) brain single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT-CT) images of a patient with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (IPD) (Hoehn and Yahr [H&Y] II). Transverse slices show severely reduced uptake in bilateral basal ganglia with more severe reduction in bilateral putamen and relatively preserved uptake in bilateral caudate nucleus, suggestive of reduced presynaptic dopaminergic activity. On semiquantitative evaluation, striatal uptake ratios (SURs) were 0.30 and 0.32 for the right and left striatum, respectively.
