Mechanism of hypoglycemic ketoacidosis. Depleting available glycogen stores in the liver and tirzepatide can increase insulin release and inhibit the effect of counterregulatory hormones, thereby decreasing hepatic gluconeogenesis in a state of insulin resistance in the peripheral tissue.
