Figure 1

SUMO2-conjugation in models of mutant Tau overexpression. (A) Representative image and quantification of SUMO2-conjugation in the brains of wild-type (WT) and human TauP301L overexpressing (JNPL3) mice at 5 months of age by western blotting (WB). Chronic expression of human TauP301L leads to a significant reduction of SUMO2 conjugation in JNPL3 compared to WT mice (n = 7–5). Since data were not normally distributed (by Shapiro–Wilk normality test) Mann Whitney test was applied, *p < 0.05. (B) Analysis of SUMO2-conjugation in the hippocampi of 11 weeks-old WT mice injected with PBS or AAV transducing TauP301L (1.3×109 IU) for 17 weeks. The quantification showed that the sub-chronic expression of TauP301L induced an increase in the SUMO2 conjugation compared to PBS, n = 3–4, unpaired t-test, p < 0.05.
