Reduced ability to cleave fibronectin in isogenic mutants of P. gingivalis. Fibronectin was incubated for 30 min with P. gingivalis W83 and isogenic mutants FLL92, FLL93, and FLL95 grown of to early stationary phase (OD600 of 1.1), harvested, washed, and resuspended in 1× PBS to a final OD600 of 1.5. Cell-free supernatant from samples was analyzed by SDS-PAGE and stained with Simply Blue Safe Stain. Molecular mass markers are shown at left.
