Toxin production by STEC isolates. Two clinical isolates of E. coli O157:H7 902 (stx2) and ATCC 43894 (stx1and stx2) were used as positive controls. The negative control was strain MG 1655 (K-12). “Positive-kit” was the positive control provided with the enzyme immunoassay kit. Values on the y axis correspond to absorbance units at two wavelengths (450 and 630 nm).
