In this example, the institution is scoring significantly lower than both the Physician Group Incentive Program (PGIP) average and the 90th percentile in the measure of appropriate testing for pharyngitis. For the antimicrobial steward reviewing this scorecard, it would be important to prioritize that measure over avoiding antibiotics for bronchitis and appropriate treatment for upper respiratory infections, where the program is scoring better than the average.
