Virchow’s triad and dyad: the traditional Virchow’s triad includes abnormalities in the vasculature, blood, and flow as determinants of thrombosis. In some settings like COVID-19 the extent of vascular injury and inflammation, coupled with highly prothrombotic factors within the circulating blood through small, medium, and large-size vessels may be sufficient to cause thrombosis
