Expression kinetics of different Rta-responsive genes. (A) Raji cells were transfected with vector pRTS (lane 1) or pRTS/Rta (lanes 2 to 5). Cells were collected at different times after transfection with pRTS/Rta (lanes 2 to 5); cells transfected with pRTS were collected at 24 h. One group of cells was untreated (U) (lane 6), and another was treated with TPA and sodium butyrate (TPA/B) for 48 h (lane 7). (B) BZKO cells were transfected with different plasmids and cultured for 48 h. Total cellular RNA was isolated and analyzed by Northern blotting using probes specific for the indicated genes. A probe for the H1 component of RNase P was used to control for RNA loading. R+ZS186A, Rta and Z(S186A).
