Inhibition of priming by a peptide containing the T3 motif. P was translated in vitro with ɛ and incubated with increasing amounts of the T3 peptide or the irrelevant MBP peptide, and then MgCl₂ and [α-³²P]dGTP were added to permit priming. The ³²P signal from priming was quantitated and normalized to the activity of P without dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) or peptide. Peptide concentrations are in mM, and error bars show the standard deviations from four experiments.
