The SRL-related fragment from strain 493/89 detected by PCR with primer pair RL11679f and 4290 (Fig. 1).

All strains had the stx₂ genotype.

stx genotypes: stx₁ (2 strains); stx₂ (42 strains), stx₁ stx₂ (5 strains); stx_2c (9 strains), stx₁ stx_2c (5 strains), and stx₂ stx_2c (38 strains).
