The resulting tissue microarray is covered upside down with melted paraffin wax and warmed in an oven for five minutes (50°C). The paraffin wax of the tissue cores and the acceptor block starts to homogenise, resulting in the final array block. Normal histological sections can be prepared from these blocks. Extra aids are not required, even if bone marrow biopsies are arrayed (lower left).
