BOR1 mRNA accumulation in response to B conditions quantified by reverse transcription-mediated real-time PCR. (Left) Col-0 plants were grown with high-B media (+B) and transferred to low-B media (-B) at 1, 3, or 6 days before harvested. (Right) The Col-0 plants incubated with low-B media for 6 days (-B) were resupplied with high-B media (Re+B) for 1, 3, and 6 h. Accumulation of the BOR1 mRNA relative to Elongation Factor 1α (EF) mRNA in roots and shoots was determined. Values are normalized with the means for the +B and -B samples in Left and Right, respectively. Averages and standard deviations from three to four batches of plant materials are shown. Relative mRNA levels were not significantly different from control conditions (+B and -Bin Left and Right panels, respectively, P > 0.1, Student's t test).
